How much does a sex-change typically cost?

Just curious. I have a friend that wants to look like a specific person but it would mean a sex-change. Does anyone know on average how much something like that would cost? How much does a sex-change typically cost?I am familiar only with the costs in Thailand. It can be done at the Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Center. As you know this is one of the reasons why Thailand has high rates of tourists. Some men and women come from the west to undergo plastic surgery at a lesser cost. I have had friends who have under gone sexual replacement surgery and they were very satisfied.

Undergoing Sexual Replacement Surgery is a very long process. I've heard that one should be in hormone replecements for 2 years before undergoing the surgical procedure. A friend of mine was on hormones for two years before he underwent breast implants. The doctor told him this so that he would develop %26quot;small%26quot; breasts. This also enabled his skin to be stretched so that when the implants were inserted there would be a %26quot;place%26quot; for it. This also minimizes the pain to some extent because the skin is already loose and not so taut. It cost him $2000 Dollars to have his breats done.

One of my friends also under went sexual replacement surgery in Thailand more or less than 10 years ago, I was able to see her new vagina, and I have to say it looks like one. Complete with all the labia majora and minora, the clitoris, and even the shape. He or might as well she is greatly satisfied. It cost him $7000 US then.

Don't worry the prices might have changed because of the increasing number of plastic surgeons. Competiton brings down the price.

Aside from the physical transformation, one is yet to undergo a number of psychological tests to determine if one is psychologically ready to live as a full time member of the opposite sex.

Having Sexual Replacement Surgery is no joke. It must be thought of clearly and deeply. Because once you have the penis removed, you cannot have it attatched ever again.

I have seen countless people on TV interviews saying that they regreted undergoing the surgery. So please tell your friend that undergoing this surgery is not as easy as it seems. It will change his life style and his sex life. So he must not undergo this surgery just to look like someone else, because he might be in for a shock the next time he sees himself in the mirror not able to recognize who he is anymore. How much does a sex-change typically cost?It can cost anywhere from $3,000 to $100,000 to get a sex change, none of which is covered under medical insurance. There are several parts to the surgery, which may any or all of the following: orchiectomy, penectomy, vaginoplasty, and augmentation mammoplasty.

And there is tons of stuff that the patient has to go thru first, psych exams, etc.
