How much would a sex change cost for my 99 accord coupe?

I have an automatic accord and am looking to put a 5sp trans in it but i dont know how much this will cost me.How much would a sex change cost for my 99 accord coupe?not to burst anyones bubbles but switching from auto to manual has some advantages. first off its a bit lighter, and i mean a bit, which equals better gas mileage. second off you can choose yourself when to change gears which can also equate to increased gas mileage, or just having some fun as long as you dont destroy the tranny. and as far as i know of it should practically be a direct swap for the tranny itself, you might have to have some fab work done so that the shifter can fit, (i dont know how an auto shifter is mounted since i dont own an auto car). also, manuals will last much longer than autos if you are careful with it. there are plenty of people who have put well over 200k miles on manual cars without ever changing the transmission fluid. personally i would at least change it once, that way some of the grinded metal from the gears (still gets grinded some no matter how much you baby the car, just the way it is with the gears constantly contacting each other).

as for the cost it depends, some people i believe have managed a swap for a 6 gear manual box but im not positive. trannys can run between 250-500 easily, depending on the condition. some places might allow a trade in and you pay the difference, in fact some places even install it either free of charge or for a small fee compared to going to a mechanic and paying a huge amount of money for them to do it. or if you or someone you know has worked on trannys for quite some time and are confident in doing the work, its even cheaper.

hope this helpsHow much would a sex change cost for my 99 accord coupe?i dont know how much it would cost but as a rule of thumb swapping either engine or trans for a car 99% of the time isnt worth itHow much would a sex change cost for my 99 accord coupe?not sure how much it would cost but its not worth it with the money and time it would take, if you want a stick shift bad enough it would be cheaper and better to just get a car that already has a stick shift in it

John D and George S - i do know the advantages that a manual had over an auto but you got to think about this, in any car/truck anything, a manual will cost less than auto so if you change an auto to manual thats a lot of money and time when you can get the exact same car with same options and miles for cheaper than the car you have that auto before you even do the work to it so all and all your just losing money, so money wise its just better to get a manual car/truck, plus if you go to sell the car you sell it as a manual so it will be worth a little less than an auto so you lose money on that toHow much would a sex change cost for my 99 accord coupe?take it to a dealer and trade it straight across for the same car with a stick, with maybe 25,000 miles more on it.How much would a sex change cost for my 99 accord coupe?Yes I agree with John D. Auto to manual transmission swap has a big advantage. Savings on fuel will mean that your investment will pay off in a matter of years. I know it is not easy especially you may have to change your instrumentation panel. In the Philippines, a lot of JDM Honda Accords from Japan are imported and I've seen them convert it to manual transmission. I've also seen a lot of right-hand drive to left hand drive conversions. It could be done but if you ask me it's really worth it. Take it from me. Good luck! Cheers.
