Around How much would it cost to change an automatic transmission to manual? Just curious? Im looking to buying a new car. Well and older car but can find any good manual transmission ones only nice automatic ones. It's not just changing the transmission, you also have to install a clutch pedal and linkage, most likely replace the driveshaft, and possibly the computer and wiring. Now is it longer or shorter and will the driveshaft have to be cut or lengthened and will you need (likely) different transmission mounts as well as new clutch, pressure plate %26amp; throwout bearing. Now the hard part is how to mount the clutch pedal and can you find parts to make it work mechanically or will it require a slave clutch cylinder. And when it is ready it will likely never be close to as good as a factory setup. Better option is to get another vehicle with it already a manual transmission.
