You are right about the cost of repainting it (although around here for a midsized Ford it would be 10% higher). If you get a new bumper cover installed and painted it is about $575 (as estimated by the insurance company estimator).How much does it cost to change new bumper ?you can get it done cheaper through a local body shop,and get it painted a lot cheaper,they usually do these for around 5-600 bucks total and that's getting the bumper also,i had my front one done and it cost 550 bucks for everything,id check around and get some prices from some of the body shops,there's always one that will do it cheaper than the other one will,good luck with it.
